Kiran Chaudhari
Kiran Chaudhari, a 27-year-old woman from the Terai Siraha district, has faced significant challenges due to a disability in both her legs. As a child, she suffered from a high fever that resulted in polio, affecting her ability to walk properly. Kiran now relies on a stick to move from one place to another. Her journey to EPSA Nepal began when she moved to Kathmandu and learned about the organization through another group focused on women with disabilities.
In the first six months at EPSA, Kiran had the opportunity to attend a skills training program for hand-knitted and felting crafts. Upon completing the training course, she began producing items based on felt and hand-knitting techniques. Kiran has successfully become a productive and valuable staff member at the EPSA center, earning her own income through her work. Her determination and hard work have enabled her to achieve self-sufficiency and contribute meaningfully to her community.
